塑料检查井是由高分子合成树脂材料制作而成的检查井。通常采用聚氯乙稀(PVC-U)、聚丙烯(PP)和高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)等通用塑料作为原料，通过缠绕、注塑或压制等方式成型部件，再将各部件组合成整体构件，也有极少数情况下采用玻璃钢材质来制作检查井。

The plastic inspection well is mainly suitable for the 1. building areas, which are mostly small rain and sewage wells with a diameter of less than 700. 2. municipal projects are large inspection wells (also known as manholes) with a well diameter of more than 700, and 3. high pollution wastewater engineering, such as chemical and pharmaceutical products. Besides, for the poor water area, the plastic inspection well can be used as a water collector to achieve the collection and utilization of rainwater resources.

塑料检查井主要由井盖和盖座、承压圈、井体（井筒、井室、井座）及配件组合而成。井径1000mm以下检查井井体为井筒、井座构成的直筒结构，井径1000mm及以上检查井井体为井筒、井室、井座构成的带收口锥体结构，收口处直径700mm。井径700mm及以上的检查井井筒或井室壁上一般设置有踏步，供检查、维修人员上下。
